For Dilgo Khyentse Brilliant Moon

Only comets fiery paths across the sky,

have seen the earth whole before

 Apollo’s descent to lunar ground

luminous pale queen of the night.

With dusty boots and a box of air

Buzz Aldrin saw,

From golden mask and farthest shore

Earth rise.

A view no longer looking up, hare and hound,

gazing down, earth amidst the stars too numerous to count

our place our home.
